Commissioning Certified Professional – CxCP Refresher

The Commissioning Certified Professional—CxCP Refresher training program provides comprehensive information and principles related to building commissioning. It covers the definition, history, importance, process overview, CP roles, responsibilities, professional qualifications, cost and benefits, commissioning team roles, safety procedures, and quality conformance.

The program covers various stages of commissioning, including design, construction, equipment startup, pre-functional tests, TAB performance verification, managing functional performance testing, O&M manual review, final commissioning report development, systems manual development, and post-project activities.

We encourage participants to take the CxCP_Procedural Standards Practice Exam and the CxCP_Technical Practice Exam to evaluate their knowledge and earn credentials.

The CxCP certification confirms the ability to lead, plan, organize, and manage a commissioning team while carrying out commissioning procedures for both new and existing facilities.

The CxCP validates knowledge in the following essential areas: commissioning project management, commissioning documentation creation, training activity management, warranty phase activity completion, and ongoing and existing commissioning.

A Cx Certified Professional develops and supervises the technical commissioning process, which includes accessing and evaluating building systems.

Commissioning (Cx) is a methodical procedure that ensures compliance with contract papers and specifications, resulting in the delivery of a fully functional facility. NEBB’s methodology goes above and beyond the typical quality commissioning procedure by testing all systems to verify they operate and function properly, as well as monitoring and resolving any issues that arise.

To maintain their certification, CxCPs must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the technical commissioning of building systems. CxCPs achieve this by combining education and/or experience requirements, specific prerequisites, self-directed study, passing the CX procedural standards and technical exams, and continuing education.

Krishnaji Pawar, the CEO and founder of Beyond Smart Cities, developed the Commissioning Certified Professional—CxCP Refresher Training.

In managing the commissioning process for new building systems, the CxCP serves as the owner’s advocate. They create the required commissioning documents to implement processes and coordinate activities with the owner, designers, and contractors. They also supervise system commissioning testing and pursue corrections of all found issues until full resolution to the owner’s satisfaction.
