About Course
Fundamentals of Organizational GHG Accounting Training Course
The Fundamentals of Organizational GHG Accounting programme makes sure that professionals have the skills they need to help organisations plan for climate action. This includes developing greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories, climate action planning (low emission development planning), and climate adaptation planning.
These efforts are very important for building. Local governments’ efforts to deal with climate change through organisational planning and policy making
This training course will cover the fundamentals of GHG accounting for organizations. The course materials are based on the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard while referring to the ISO 14064: Part 1 international standard for GHG inventories.
Many organisations are starting to think about how to manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for a number of reasons: to minimise their impact on the planet, to prepare for regulation and address evolving disclosure requirements, to increase energy efficiency, and/or to build their profile as an environmental and sustainability leader.
An experienced sustainability and environmental specialist, Krishnaji Pawar, designed the Fundamentals of Organizational GHG Accounting—Training Course. He specialises in the creation of sustainable design solutions for Green Building Certification Systems (LEED, GSAS, etc.), Energy and Water Conservation, Commissioning, Environmental Impact Assessment, Greenhouse Gas Accounting, and Environmental Management Systems.
The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard developed by WRI and WBCSD serves as the foundation for the course materials, and the international standard ISO 14064 Part 1 for greenhouse gas inventories is cited throughout.
Many companies are beginning to consider how to manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for a variety of reasons, including the following: to lessen their impact on the planet, to get ready for regulation and address changing disclosure requirements, to improve energy efficiency, and/or to establish themselves as environmental pioneers.
Building an inventory of your sources and emissions (e.g., carbon footprint) is an essential first step to assessing risks, reducing emissions, and tracking your performance.

Who should go?
- Everyone interested in the management of carbon emissions, in particular those in charge of managing greenhouse gas inventories, company environmental and sustainability managers, investors, and auditors.
- One of your customers may tell you that he wants his business to be “carbon neutral,” and they may seek for your assistance in figuring out what their carbon footprint looks like. By the completion of this course, you will be able to intelligently address the problems that are essential to evaluate the GHG emissions of this company.
Organizations are encouraged to consult the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard for foundational guidance on GHG accounting principles, defining inventory boundaries, identifying GHG emission sources, defining and adjusting an inventory base year, and tracking emissions over time.
As a resource center for GHG measurement and management, EPA’s Center for Corporate Climate Leadership has developed GHG inventory resources to complement the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard that provide specific guidance on GHG calculation methodologies and emission factors.
The Fundamentals of Organizational GHG Accounting – Training Course is aligned with The Greenhouse Gas Protocol: A Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (GHG Protocol Corporate Standard) developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), which is the global standard for calculating corporate GHG emissions.
