Certified HVAC Designer – CHD Exam Question Bank

The Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) Exam Question Bank contains 600 multiple-choice questions, with six simulation exams each lasting 2.5 hours. These exams assess students’ knowledge and ability to complete the exam with the required score, and are compatible with the latest version of the exam knowledge domain.
The CHD certification verifies an individual’s ability to design HVAC systems that align with the requirements of a building or project. This includes performing load calculations, selecting and sizing equipment, designing mechanical equipment rooms, designing ducts and piping, and creating layouts for the development of HVAC plans for permits and construction. The CHD validates competency in these key domains: system design, design calculations, procedural, and coordination.
In line with ISO/IEC 17024 standards, the CHD certification shows that the holder knows how to design HVAC systems for buildings or projects. This includes figuring out the right equipment size, load calculations, mechanical equipment room design, duct and pipe layout, and making HVAC plans for building permits and construction.
Certified HVAC designers manage building modifications, calculate heat loss, and determine ventilation rate requirements; they also design HVAC systems, prepare flow diagrams, schematics, and plan drawings, and review shop drawings for potential obstructions and equipment submittals.
Krishnaji Pawar, an accomplished sustainability specialist at Beyond Smart Cities with expertise in smart city development, sustainable design strategy development, environmental impact assessment, green building certification (LEED, GSAS, etc.), energy usage modeling, greenhouse gas accounting, and emissions management, developed the Certified HVAC Designer – CHD Exam Question Bank.

Certified HVAC Designers adjust HVAC requirements, calculate building load heat loss and gain, and determine ventilation rate requirements. They design HVAC system types, prepare flow diagrams, schematics, and plan drawings, and review drawings to identify obstructions.

They assess heating and cooling needs, conduct load calculations, consider ventilation, air quality standards, and energy efficiency goals. They design systems with fresh air intake, energy-efficient components, and aim to create comfortable, functional, and sustainable indoor environments.
